My Sunday Prep: Simple Things I Do to Get Ready for the Week
Planning out your week by mastering a Sunday prep day is the key to less stress and a more productive week. Monday mornings always seem like a drag but things quickly pan out when you tackle a few extra tasks on Sunday. Here are 6 things to do on Sunday to set the tone for the rest of the week.
Write a to-do list:
Quickly skimming through your calendar for what’s coming up this week is a great way to make sure you have everything accounted for and you are prepared to meet any deadlines.
Groceries & Meal prep:
Planning my meals for the week is a great way for me to keep good eating habits. For me, grocery shopping on Sunday consists of a curated grocery list in Whole Foods Prime Now grocery cart. There are numerous apps that let you shop for groceries and have them delivered to your front door. I order my groceries early in the morning to make sure they are delivered by the afternoon. This is a big time saver and it allows me to start on dinner as soon as I get home from Sunday worship and prep my meals for the week.
Mini Cleaning Session:
Recently, I’ve started separating my laundry the night before so that the first thing I do when I get up in the morning is throw a load in the washing machine before heading out the door.
When I get back home and have started on dinner and the laundry is in the cycle, this is a great time for me to tidy up the common areas in the house. I start with the bathrooms, then make my way to the kitchen making sure all the trash has been emptied, floors swept, and counter space has been cleared off and wiped clean.
Set out clothes for Monday or for the whole week:
Once the laundry is done and I began to put them away, this is a great time for me to pull out things I want to wear for work during the week. Since I already checked my calendar and I’m aware of upcoming events, I am able to dress accordingly. Let me tell you, this is the best thing to do if you are not a morning person, like myself. I always struggle waking up in the morning, no matter how early I go to bed the night before. Getting my clothes out the day before really easies there stress.
Schedule Social Media for the Week:
For all my readers with a side hustle, this is a great time to also schedule your social media content. I use an app called Planoly to plan and strategize my content. Whatever method works for you, get it done!
Make time for self-care:
Setting aside time for yourself on Sunday will put you in a great mindset for the upcoming week. Try giving yourself one of those cool face mask, light one of your favorite candles, or throw on some workout clothes and try a few at home workouts.
